  1. Brown onions, carrots and celery in a large pan.
  2. Add mince and continue cooking until brown.
  3. Add tomato puree, worcestershire sauce, mixed herbs and flour, stir together and add beef stock and mushrooms.
  4. Continue cooking with a lid on for 30 mins on a low heat.
  5. In a separate pan bring potatoes to the boil in salted water and cook until tender.
  6. Transfer meat mixture to a large pie dish.
  7. Mash potatoes with plenty of butter and a little milk.
  8. Spread mash on top of meat evenly and fluff with a fork.
  9. Place pie under a pre-heated grill until golden brown.

I recently served it with this Carrot Salad with a Honey Dijon Dressing which was a hit!. For a cosy meal on a cold winter night, try it with a side of Glazed Roasted Carrots and Sautéed.
