  4. When the milk begins to boil, add the samo.
  5. Keep stirring occasionally and let the mixture simmer for 10 -15 minutes or till the samo is cooked and the kheer becomes thick.
  6. Add sugar and let it simmer for a further 3-5 minutes.
  7. Add the chopped nuts, raisins, and cardamom powder.
  8. Mix well and serve. It can be served hot or chilled.
  9. Tip: Can be served with fresh fruit.
  10. For diabetic-friendly kheer use a sweetener of your choice like stevia.
