Gyoza is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It’s simple, it is fast, it tastes delicious. It is appreciated by millions every day. They are fine and they look wonderful. Gyoza is something which I’ve loved my entire life.

The way to use round gyoza wrappers is: put a tablespoon of filling inside, wet one-half of the edge of the wrapper with water, fold in half. It should look like a half-circle. It's really quite easy but hard to explain.

To begin with this recipe, we must first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook gyoza using 16 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Gyoza:
  1. Prepare 1 cup ground beef (340g)
  2. Make ready 5 oz cabbage finely chopped (5/8 cup)

Cancel Print Though you can find gyoza in many eating places in Japan, the most traditional place they are found is in ramen joints. A big bowl of steaming ramen and a side of gyoza. Even though I can barely manage to get through an entire bowl of ramen myself, I always get gyoza. Gyoza is a dumpling filled with ground meat and vegetables wrapped with a thin skin. 饺子 (jiǎo zi; the original Chinese word for Gyoza 餃子) was adopted to Japanese cuisine from Manchuria which is in northern China.

Instructions to make Gyoza:
  1. In a large mixing bowl. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Or use a food processor if you have one.
  2. Make sure cabbage is blanched for 3 secs in boiling water or microwave for 15 secs for easier mixing.
  3. Put 1 teaspoonful of meatball in the middle of the pot sticker wrapper.
  4. Line inner half of the wrapper with water. And fold in half against the dry side.
  5. Press pot stickers together using side of thumb and index finger. (I'm lazy so yeah lol)
  6. By following steps above gyoza should stand on it's own.
  7. In nonstick cooking pan, pour sesame oil and vegetable oil and fry the bottom of the gyoza until brown.
  8. Add water and cover to steam cook gyoza. Serve hot and enjoy.
  9. You can also add as an ingredient to chicken soup. Which I'll be uploading in a few minutes. 😊
