  2. Add sugar (1 tsp) & basmati rice (for kheer) to the same deshi ghee. Fry rice till light golden brown & then add water(1 cup).
  3. Pressure cook the rice with 7-8 whistles in high flame. After cooking take aside.
  4. Boil milk in a large wok. After boil add cardamom powder & cooked rice. Then mix it well.
  5. Cook it for 10 minutes & then add milk made. Cook it for another 5 minutes.
  6. Add sugar & cook it for another 2 minutes. Then turn off the stove.
  7. Finally add salt & fried dry fruits. Then ready to serve.

This kheer recipe is very easy to make and required very few ingredients. All of the ingredients will be available in your pantry. Kheer is not as thick as a Western-style rice pudding, and should be still be a bit fluid when cool. Often I have used substitutions in this recipe, depending on what I had on hand.
