Hey everyone, it is Jim, welcome to our recipe page. Today, I’m gonna show you how to prepare a distinctive dish, quince jam. One of my favorites. For mine, I am going to make it a little bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Quince jam is one of the most popular of current trending foods on earth. It’s simple, it is fast, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions every day. Quince jam is something that I have loved my whole life. They are fine and they look fantastic.

Quince jam is easy to make. But they are used to make jam, jelly and quince pudding, or they may be peeled, then roasted, baked or stewed. Quince jam is my husband's very favorite preserve, and until now I hadn't ever even seen a quince.

To get started with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few components. You can have quince jam using 6 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Quince jam:
  1. Take 600 g quinces (weigh them after you have peeled and cut them)
  2. Get 300 g sugar
  3. Take juice of half a lemon
  4. Take 2 cups water
  5. Get 1 tsp cinnamon
  6. Take 1 tsp spice mix for sweets (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger)

Quince jam is a favorite jam among households. Quince is full of antioxidant properties that may reduce the Quince jam is rich of fiber but since it's tasteless to bite on just like an apple, including it. Quince jam doesn't last long in my house. I go through phases when I cook.

Steps to make Quince jam:
  1. Sterilize the jars that you are going to use by placing them in a preheated fan oven at 100°C for 20 minutes.
  2. Peel the quinces and cut them into small pieces. Place them in a pot together with the sugar, cover with the lid and set them aside for 3-4 hours.
  3. Place the pot over medium heat (without the lid), add the lemon juice and stir a little so that the sugar dissolves. Then blend in a blender to the smoothness that you desire (I blended it so that there are still a few small pieces of quince left). Move it back to the pot, add the water and boil vigorously for about 15 minutes (without stirring). Place a little bit of the jam on a small frozen plate to see if it has thickened enough. If necessary, place back over heat for an additional 5 minutes and check again.
  4. When it thickens, add the cinnamon and the spice mix for sweets and mix well.
  5. Store in the sterilized jars, close their lid tight and turn them upside down. When the jam cools, store in the fridge.

This fall I have been in my quince phase. Quince makes beautiful jam thanks to its deep pink color once cooked. It's also naturally high in pectin, so it thickens nicely without having to use thickeners. It goes very well with meats and cheeses. It is quince season now and while waiting for the fruits to ripen a few weeks on the trees, I was plotting ways to use them.
