Chana Masala is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. It’s enjoyed by millions every day. It’s simple, it is fast, it tastes yummy. Chana Masala is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They’re nice and they look fantastic.
To begin with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook chana masala using 20 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Chana Masala:
Get 1 cup Chana/Chole/Chickpeas (Soaked and boiled)
Take 2 Onions, finely chopped
Make ready 2 Garlic cloves, minced
Get 2 Tomatoes, finely diced
Get 2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
Make ready Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Take 1 Green chilli, chopped
Prepare 1/2 tsp Crushed black peppercorns
Get 1 tsp Turmeric powder
Take 1 tsp Red chilli powder
Make ready 1 tsp Kitchen king
Get 1 tbsp Crushed Kasoori methi
Take 1/2 tsp Hing/Asafoetida
Make ready 1-1 1/2 tsp Anaardana powder
Make ready 1 tbsp Coriander powder
Make ready 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
Take 1-2 tsp Mdh Chana Masala
Get Water as required
Prepare 2-3 tbsp Oil
Take 1-2 bay leaves
Instructions to make Chana Masala:
Heat oil in wok or cooking pot. Add cumin seeds, hing. Then add chopped onion, bay leaves and garlic, sauté them till they turn translucent.
Then add chopped tomatoes, grated ginger and some salt. Stir well. Let it cook for atleast 2 mins.
Add some water and start adding all the masalas - turmeric, coriander, garam, anaardana, red chilli, kitchen king, Chana masala. Mix well.
Add boiled Chana and salt (if required). Then add 2-3 cups of water or as per your requirement and mix well. Let it cook for 4-5 mins on medium-low flame.
Cover the pot with a lid on medium low heat for 8-10 minutes. After 10-12 minutes, add crushed Kasoori methi and mix well. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and onions.
To prepare mint raita - you can add crushed mint leaves to the curd. But I have used mint powder, black pepper and salt.
Serve hot with Chapati, salad and mint raita.
