Rajma Tikki is a mouth-watering dish that you can easily prepare at home for any occasion and enjoy with your favourite sauces. This North Indian recipe is made using a variety of ingredients like red kidney beans (rajma), potato, all purpose flour, breadcrumbs, onion and spices that can be an absolute crunchy delight for many.

Instructions to make Rajma Tikkis:
  1. Take a mixer jar, add boiled rajma and grind it coarsely.To make tikkis, drain all the water from rajma and then grind it.
  2. Heat up the pan, pour one tablespoon oil in it. - Add a small piece of finely chopped ginger and green chillies.Now add the spices and mix it well.Add one tablespoon gram flour and salt as per taste.
  3. Add rajma once the mixture is cooked nicely, mix it and turn off the stove.Add one boiled mashed banana (boil in the pressure cooker up to 2 whistles – do not overcook). - Add some finely chopped coriander and mint leaves.Add 1/2 lime juice.
  4. Make small round shape tikkis from the mixture. Further heat up the pan, pour one teaspoon oil and ghee.Place all the tikkis on pan and cook it on medium to high flame.Cook both the sides until it gets the golden-brown colour.
  5. Garnish it with green chutney on top and some fresh coriander leaves.

Shape the mixture into equal sized tikkis and shallow fry, turning sides, till evenly done and crisp on both sides. Aloo Special; Daal Special; Gujrati Food; Paratha Special So last week when I made rajma sundal, I reserved some of the rajma and made these tikkis and the kids loved it to bits. These tikkis make a wonderful snacks box item. You can pack these tikkis as it is or you can use this as a patty in a burger. Just cut the burger buns / dinner rolls horizontally.
