The ingredients needed to make Oats haleem:
  1. Get 1 red onion finely sliced
  2. Get 1 tsp paprika
  3. Prepare 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  4. Prepare 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  5. Take 1/2 tsp ground garlic
  6. Prepare 2 tbsp red lentil
  7. Take 2 tbsp yellow lentil
  8. Make ready 2 tbsp white lentils
  9. Get 1 tsp black cumin
  10. Prepare 2 medium cinnamon sticks
  11. Get 5 each cloves
  12. Take 7 small black pepper
  13. Prepare 2 cup white oats( quaker)
  14. Prepare 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  15. Prepare 1 medium chicken stock cube ( maggie)
  16. Take 3 tbsp pure ghee
  17. Make ready 1 tsp salt
  18. Make ready 250 grams bone less chiken
  19. Make ready 250 ml boiling water
  20. Prepare 1/4 bunch mint
  21. Make ready 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Today i am sharing a desi style recipe with oats. Yes, you can make haleem from oats and enjoy with your family 🙂 One recipe is with homemade spices and other one is with ready made Haleem. I am posting two versions of Haleem- the traditional one and a healthier one with oats. The healthier version recipe is my aunt-inlaw's.

Steps to make Oats haleem:
  1. Fry sliced red onions til crispy golden and keep.aside in a plate
  2. Boil bone less chicken pieces with 2 pinch salt and cool them and shred
  3. Boil oats in 3 cups water and keep aside..
  4. Grind all lentils into fine powder
  5. Take a vessel and pour oil then add black cumin, cloves,cinammon and black pepper powder.. Stir on low flame for 20 seconds
  6. Add and stir ginger garlic paste,turmeric and paprika
  7. Add ground lentils and saute for two mins on low flame.. Do not rise the flame ..
  8. Keep ready boiling water and pour on lentils and mix well to form a thick paste ..stir well
  9. Now add shredded chicken, salt , chicken cube and stir well.. Add more a glass of boiling water and cook for a minute
  10. Add boiled oats and stir well to get a thick porridge like consistency.. Cook for 5 to ten mins on low
  11. Lastly pour the oats haleem in a serving bowl and garnish it with crispy fried onions, ghee and chopped mint leaves..
  12. Lemon juice can added while eating
